Botswana boasts one of Earth’s richest ecosystems, with landscapes defined by the vast sands of the Kalahari Desert and the lush green plains of the Okavango Delta, where annual floods create a sanctuary for Southern Africa’s most iconic wildlife.
Your safari will begin at the exclusive Xigera Safari Lodge in the Moremi Game Reserve in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Herds of magnificent elephants, towers of giraffes and roaming lions are just some of the impressive animals you can expect to see on game drives, and boat and helicopter trips offer incredible adventures within this the landscape. Mokoro & Boating Safaris in Okavango Delta
Discover the Okavango Delta’s wilderness from a unique perspective as you glide through flooded channels in a mokoro. In Xigera’s river-rich area, the mokoro, a traditional dugout canoe carved from a single tree trunk, has been a means of transportation for centuries. To fully explore the stunning floodplains and narrow channels, you can also opt for a motorboat to navigate the deeper rivers and lagoons, home to crocodiles and large groups of hippos.
Botswana Helicopter Adventures
Botswana includes many fascinating locations and wildlife hotspots to explore. Elephants Havens, an elephant orphanage within the Okavango Delta, is a remarkable destination accessible by helicopter, offering an up-close experience with these playful animals. Tsodillo Hills is another extraordinary spot. Rising above the Kalahari Desert, this sacred UNESCO-listed site features around 4,500 rock paintings, some dating back over 26,000 years.
Searching for Humpback Whales
Between July and October, humpback whales migrate annually to the warm waters of the Mozambique Channel, where the temperature is ideal for breeding. They come to mate, give birth, and raise their calves. In collaboration with the Bazaruto Center of Scientific Studies, we can arrange for you to join scientists on research missions to learn about these unique whales.

Xigera
A safari camp unlike any other, this uniquely designed lodge blends a unique aesthetic with a profound celebration of the surrounding wilderness.
