Starting in Reykjavik, you will begin with one of the capital’s best dining experiences to prepare for the morning’s motorbike trip to Snaefellsnes Peninsula, a dramatic landscape stretching 56 miles and covered in dormant volcanoes. Following this, you will visit Hornstrandir Nature Reserve in Iceland’s west fjords, one of the most remote and breathtaking places in Iceland. Next, you will travel to Deplar Farm, a converted 15th-century sheep farm within the Troll Peninsular, where you can spend a few days recharging amongst the sweeping scenery, or, for those craving adventure, explore Iceland by helicopter, discover waterfalls, relax in hot springs, or get your adrenaline going with white-water rafting.
Your biking adventure will then move past Myvatn geothermal lake before reaching Godfoss and Dettifoss waterfalls, then onto Eastern Iceland where you will glimpse the spectacular Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier. Next, you will ride along the southern coast of Iceland and into þórsmörk National Park, where you can explore the vast highlands in 4×4 off-road jeeps. Finally, travel through the famous Golden Circle before reaching the Blue Lagoon Retreat, where you can relax in the retreat spa and reflect on your exhilarating journey through the Icelandic landscape. Hiking in Hornstrandir
To truly experience one of the least explored places in Iceland, your motorbike journey will take you to Hornstrandir Nature Reserve. Before visiting this nature reserve, you will need to stay overnight in Ísafjörður. We will arrange a private boat charter to take you the following morning to Hornstrandir, where you can hike in the vast region surrounding Hornbjarg, encompassed by scenery you will never forget.
Rafting on Glacial River
Head to the East Glacial River by helicopter where waterfalls
provide the torrents for this octane adventure. During the summer months, you can choose to do this adrenaline-fuelled adventure in the day or at midnight. The East Glacial River Gorge (Jökulsá-Austari) is the setting for this exciting rafting tour. With its spectacular deep canyon scenery and relentless heart-pumping whitewater, this is certainly one of the planet’s most remote single-day rafting trips.
Off-Road Driving in þórsmörk
Named the Valley of Thor, you’ll be amazed by the scale of Thorsmok’s untamed wilderness. Take 4×4 jeeps off-road into this stunning landscape covered in mountains, river crossing and black sand.
